Intention
Hip-hop dance was born through the circle. Thanks to the circle, dancers in the block parties of the South Bronx in the 1970s were able to introduce this new form of dance. The energy of the circle enabled the dancers to surpass themselves each time, and to go further and further in their movements through exchanges and confrontations.
The bodies form a circle that creates an energy around the dancer(s) who express themselves in the centre. The energy and attention that is transmitted to the dancer will allow him or her to transcend. It is like the three circles present in African dance: the first is represented by the spectators, the second by the dancer and the third by the spirits. There is a transmission that goes from circle to circle.
What we want to show and defend is that it is through the simplest means that the richest things are created, a phrase that represents for us the nature of hip-hop.
Synopsis
Dancers invade an empty church and very quickly the place disappears to make way for bodies that form a circle, in which hides something that we cannot see, but which the dancers in the centre powerfully transmit to us.
